Bowers, an M&A lawyer with more than 30 years of experience advising clients on complex transactions and commercial matters, has joined Crowell & Moring as a partner in Los Angeles. His arrival reflects the continued growth of the firm’s Corporate Group in the U.S. and Europe and expands its transactional capabilities in Southern California.

At Crowell, Bowers will advise clients on a wide range of corporate and commercial matters, including M&A, joint ventures, strategic alliances, and licensing transactions. He complements the firm’s transactional capabilities in Los Angeles and nationally, bringing a client-centered perspective shaped by his experience as a former general counsel and corporate practice leader.

Over the course of his career, Bowers has led transactions for clients across a range of industries. He has particular depth in the health care and automotive technology sectors, including connected vehicle technologies and telematics, as well as experience in real estate services, medical devices, entertainment, defense, gaming, and online retail. Before entering private practice, Bowers served as general counsel of PetSmart.com and as vice president, secretary, and general counsel of MediaLive International Holdings. He joins Crowell from Sheppard Mullin, where he was a senior partner and former co-chair of the firm’s Corporate Practice Group.

He served as a law clerk to the Honorable Joseph Hatchett of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. Bowers is active in the Los Angeles civic community and currently serves as a board member of Goodwill Industries of Southern California.
